The Passing of the Torch

Hello all,
As I begin this blog, an online series of my unconventional thoughts formed into words, I would like to address the following. 1) This is in not a diary, it's a journal. (Diary of a Wimpy Kid reference) 2) FREEDOM OF SPEECH! (First Amendment reference). And lastly, 3) I'm writing this blog as a reminder for my readers and for myself that throughout the distorted and lopsided experiences we call "life", there is something valuable to learn from it all.

Okay, now allow me tell you a little bit about the teenage girl behind the screen. My name is Yael Sterenfeld, and I am seventeen years old living amongst the beautiful beaches and materialistic people of present-day Miami, Florida. I have three sisters, and parents who claim that they're cool despite still trying to decipher the infamous "iPhone". I love writing, traveling, playing soccer, and other things that can serve as a temporary escape from reality. I would continue enlightening you guys, but this is starting to feel like some kind of burdensome college application or dating website.

Throughout the entirety of my Middle School experience, my mother invested herself in a blog that in which she would share with me and the rest of her family members/friends. Though her blog was well-respected among her middle-aged friends, (especially those who adore getting wine-drunk at book club meetings), my hormonal and immature self refused to read it. This month, I finally finishing the blog from start to finish and have decided to pay a tribute to her works that she has recently retired. This one's for you Mom! So yes, while this is my very OWN blog with ideas that'll be ranging from twisted humor to philosophical ideas, I am dedicating "gazeatthemoon" to my mother's blog that once was. I now have the torch and I promise not to disappoint.
